clouds 1-9

I work in what tech journalists call “the cloud”
in practice this means at a desk
sometimes there’s a storm and the power goes out
then I get a nice break and can rest

when stormclouds come rolling toward my home office
I don’t panic or pick up the pace
I welcome the winds that bounce rain and hail off us
bringing sweet leisure back to my place

some people have needs that an outage precludes
some people just want toasted bread
I’m sorry if you’re among the people this includes
but I’m still glad my battery’s dead
