i made a to do list

I made a to do list first thing in the morning
on it it said write a masterpiece
yet working all day my own feelings suborning
i only produced a disasterpiece

its dullness was such that it caused narcolepsy
in most of a hundred yard radius
and those in the outlying cities perplexedly
felt their sharpest emotions grow haziest

your poem is so boring the world cried as one
that it's causing a crisis worldwide
where once people felt things they now can feel none
that's how human empathy died

dear people of earth i am sorry for all
for this drought and the deserts to come
i didn't mean to bring about mankind's downfall
I just liked poems and wanted to write some
