fish i wish your eyes would close
i wish some lids would clothe your eyes
i would not wish a fishful life
a dreamless swim in heavy skies
I know it's not my business fish
whether you swim in dreams or wake
i shouldn't take a personal stake in
what your eyes do or don't take in
but still i keep on wishing fiercely
that you could rest a moment darkly
and not keep swimming staring starkly
through the light so wet and piercely
