song of the coffee maker

whenever my mind is troubled
when it rattles and rustles and shakes
I listen to my coffee maker
and smell the rich coffee it makes
sometimes I make myself coffee
without even meaning to drink
just to hear the steam and sounds coughy
of the coffee maker next to the sink
