five things I want in my home + 1 I don't
Apr. 11th, 2019 02:06 pmMy answer:
Since the dawn of human history since the universe busted out
there's been one thing people always say that i get bummed about
and that's the incredibly intimidating injuction
to "be creative" while perfoming any non-creative function
listen it's ok I realize these are prompts for writing
but I'm under a lot of pressure already from the everlasting biting
inner voice of my inner editor telling me how bad I am at this
and that I should just give up because my attempt at creativity is ludicrous
but maybe I should just back up and answer the actual question
five things I want to have! in my home! Well, clearly worth a mention
Is the floor-to-ceiling bookcases with special wheely ladder
That hold my books above the floor and prevent them from getting sadder
another thing I'd like to have if money were no barrier
is a giant antique desk with pigeonholes! The more the merrier!
and number three, a real bedframe with springs and posts and whatnot
to keep my mattress off the floor. And four, when it gets hot
a screenèd porch with screens that somehow don't get et up
and on the porch, a porch swing for me, my book and iced mint julep
I think that's five! Now back to my original complaint:
I'm tired of being told to be creative when I ain't.
