of these people i am one
i used to want to be famous
i thought it would be fun
but one day i got a tiny taste
of the lives that famous people lead
and decided fame would lay my soul to waste
but that old attention wound continues to bleed
wrap me up in a bandage it says wrap me up
in the clean cotton gauze of your gaze
the need for attention will never shut up
it will howl at me all of my days
of these people i am one
