poems are for making money

a poem is a machine by which
large amounts of money can be made
sometimes you will see people keen and bitch
that they don't have enough lemons to make lemonade
to sell it at the lemonade stand
that is the literary market
they just have all these feelings man
and nowhere left to park it
drive out of town in a car made of words
get lost and keep on driving
it's only the millionaires and such turds
that want you to keep on striving
delete all your instagrams and such
lie down in snakesheltering grass
none of it mattered all that much
this time we can give you a pass
some poems make money it's true so I've heard
most of them make none at all
one poem is a stone and one poem is a bird
throw them both and see whether they fall
