The Clocks Kept Breaking
Mar. 15th, 2019 04:58 pmThe clocks kept breaking and no one knew why.
Later we knew why and couldn’t prevent it.
Every day was the same day but nobody noticed
except Fawn who was too polite to say anything.
The mold went on growing in the refrigerator
and that was all we had left of time.
Even the cancers stopped their proliferation
still undetected, in our father's lungs.
The clocks moved from noon to noon and it was the same noon.
The sun was no higher or further away.
The seas, somewhere, were growing tepid slowly
