I lost a lot of time
Just sitting in bed reading Howard's End
and putting hot packs on my spine
Sometimes I think about John Keats
who had barely even been born
before death started stepping on him with its bloody cleats
whose heart was always torn
this weekend I just sat around being slow
while the weeds grew underfoot
