song of the moon and the flower

the flower looked up at the moon and said
how did you get so big a head
the moon pretended not to notice the flower
and said, I shine coldly under my own power
and I never was stepped on by man or beast
don't trust the so-called scientific community
if you ask me the earth isn't round in the least
it's just typical government screwity
the flower felt disappointed and sad
it started to wither because it felt so bad
that wasn't what I asked it cried
and under the cold light of the moon it shriveled and died
