in summer I was sad with too much sun
and all around me sadness swelled and slept
now it's dark at 5PM and that's no fun
I wish some of that extra sun in a jar I could have kept
november creeps up on me dark and rainy
and sadder seems it than old suns by far
if only I were a little bit more brainy
I could keep some of that summer in a jar
